Pricing comparison

What each video platform actually costs in USD (and what you get for it)

If you are picking a video call tool for a small team or for one-on-one client calls, the first question is always the price. The second question — the one most comparison pages skip — is what that price gets you. A $6 plan that forces your client to create an account before joining is not cheaper than a $10 plan where they just click a link. A "free" plan that cuts the call at 40 minutes mid-session is not free — it is a hidden cost in the form of a restarted meeting.

This page compares, in US dollars, what four of the most commonly searched alternatives charge per month, and more importantly, what each price tier delivers. The criterion is not "who is cheapest." It is cost per meeting that actually works: guests join without creating an account, nothing to install, enough participant capacity for your team, and enough recording retention to keep what matters.

Go4Meet shows up in this table as one more option, not an obvious winner — Teams Essentials is cheaper, and the per-user and per-host billing models are not directly comparable. We would rather show that honestly than build a table that only flatters us.

For each competitor, the table above lists: the participant cap on the entry paid plan, whether recording is included or a separate add-on, the free-trial length, and whether billing is per host/account or per seat — that last detail changes the real price for a 3–4 person team.

The hidden costs the price table won't show you

1. A mandatory account for the guest.

On Go4Meet, on every plan including Free, whoever receives the link joins with just a name — no account, no download. Guest access is open by default on every plan; what changes on paid plans is host control over who gets in (waiting room, knock notifications), not whether the guest needs an account.

2. Installing something before joining.

Joining a Go4Meet meeting works entirely in the browser, for host and guest alike — no app, no extension required.

3. Duration and recording retention limits.

On Go4Meet, the 40-minutes-per-day cap only applies to the Free plan; paid plans have unlimited duration. Recordings are kept 14 days on Pro and 30 days on Business — after that, if you didn't download it, it's gone.

Frequently asked questions

Is the cheapest plan always the cheapest in practice?

Not necessarily. An entry plan with few participants, no recording, or one that requires the guest to create an account can cost more in lost time than a slightly pricier plan that just works the first time. Compare by what you actually need: how many people join, whether you need to record and for how long, and whether your clients will accept creating an account to talk to you.

Is Go4Meet the cheapest on this list?

No. Teams Essentials is cheaper per user ($4/month, billed yearly), although it is billed per seat and Go4Meet per host account. Among the other platforms listed, Go4Meet Pro sits at the low end of the pack. The difference we are chasing is not the lowest price, it is a meeting that works without friction for whoever receives the link.

Do the prices change with the exchange rate?

On Go4Meet, no — Pro and Business have a fixed USD price ($10 and $25 per month, or $100 and $250 per year on the annual plan). Competitors billed in another currency may vary with the exchange rate.

Do I need a credit card to try it before paying?

No — every new Go4Meet account starts with a 14-day Pro trial, no credit card required; afterward, if you do not subscribe, the account reverts to Free.

Can I switch plans later?

Yes — upgrades apply immediately, and downgrades take effect at the end of the already-paid period.
